What do you do on a bright sunny day?

If you are anything like me you try to stay out of the sun. It makes me sneeze! as well as turns me a shade of hot pink, not a good look. Having just got these lovely White Howlite top drilled Marquises gemstones turning them into a necklace was a good idea. I really like this stone it is so smooth to touch it almost feels soft. As tactile as it is a lot of people use it as a stress buster. The other day I received my first commission, and had to get more copper jump rings in to complete it. Well the bracelet was made and it's owner is happy with the finished piece. Keg weave is a little fiddly, its that 3rd jump ring making the keg effect that can be tricky to get in place. The finished result is certainly worth it. Wonder what I'll get up to next. Save Save Save Save Save Save

It has been hot, way too hot.

I'm not someone who enjoys hot sunny days, so these last few days have been very un-comfortable. I've also been trying to make my Etsy shop better trying to think of ways to make it more attractive to visitors, some sales would be nice! All this attention to other things means I've neglected my blog. So here is a bit of a catch up on the action. Leftovers, everything in this necklace is from that tray of end of strand oddments. All these beads had either been dropped and then later picked up but not used, or were the wrong size or had slipped off a strand and hidden in a corner of the beading tray. Looking at them it became obvious that they were there for a purpose, this fun 20" Leftovers or Allsorts necklace. Then there is Arkham, I love this weave you do have to concentrate when doing it to make sure everything is added in the correct order and in the right position. Pearls

I like pearls, and this came as something of a surprise to me perhaps it is age. There is something unique about them their lustre and feel against the skin. For us hobby jewellery makers the pearls we are most likely to use are imperfect rounds often with their own marks and imperfections from growing in the shell. This just adds to their charm.
